A Little Progress

This year has certainly been a challenge for farmers (but most are), but crop planting is making progress, even if it means planting at night. Over the weekend, some parts of the county had significant rainfall and flooding while others received very little. The latter was my case. By noon on Sunday, I was tired of waiting for more rain so I started to mow down some hay. I thought I was going to get dumped on at one point as big drops fell, but it passed over, and I continued to mow. As I write this article on Monday morning, it is my hope to get it up on Tuesday before another long stretch of rain. At this rate, I will likely be still making hay in July, but it won’t be the first time!
