Nice Summer Week

Last week was a great summer week. Lot of farmers got up hay, crops continue to grow, and we could even use a little rain. I had a chance on Friday to go on a grazing tour in the southern part of the state, and I was amazed how much corn was already tasseling. We are in a lot better shape than other parts of the state. Counties like Wood, Henry, Paulding, Seneca, and Defiance each have over 100,000 acres not planted. Here in Ohio, around 1.5 million acres of corn and soybeans did not get planted. That is a staggering number and by far the most I have seen in my career.
