Expansion of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program Underway
It has been announced that additional funds are available for farmers and ranchers that continue to face market disruptions and associated costs because of COVID-19. Sign-up has begun and will continue through December 11. Producers can apply at the USDA Farm Service Agency County (FSA) offices. This program provides financial assistance that gives producers the ability to absorb increased marketing costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Producers will be compensated for ongoing market disruptions and assisted with the associated marketing costs. Customers seeking one-on-one support with the CFAP 2 application process can call 877-508-8364 to speak directly with a USDA employee ready to offer assistance. This is a recommended first step before a producer engages with the team at the FSA county office. Most producers here in Morgan County use the Muskingum Morgan FSA office which can be reached at 800-962-3931.
