Wet and Dry

The first half of the weekend was fairly nice. I was able to get some round bales of hay up the hill although it continues to be very wet. However, when I got to the top of the hill, the ground was firm and even dry in places. It was dry enough that I was able to set a few fence posts before the rain started. We seemed to have fared better than other areas of the state when the weather hit Saturday afternoon. With the days this short, it is hard to get much done, but I noticed last week one clear evening that I could still see daylight at 6 p.m. The days are starting to get longer, and the average coldest day of the year should be next Saturday. For some reason, I think we will have a lot colder “rest of the winter” than we have had so far. Things seem to usually average out.
