Fly and Toe

Those are the names of our two dogs. The first, I bought as a puppy from a farmer in the county doing a farm visit. She is a miniature Australian Shepherd he had hid in a jacket between the seats in a utility vehicle as we were going around the farm discussing issues. I knew the second I saw her that I was going to buy her, but I made him try to convince me to buy her over the next two hours of the visit just to be ornery! Then there is Toe. My sister in Dallas rescued this Heinz 57 mix as a puppy from a junk yard. What she didn’t realize at the time is that he would end up over 100 pounds, and he was just too much for her, so her brother and sister-in-law now have him! Last week, my wife had a work meeting that took her out of town for the night, and the dogs were beside themselves. They would not eat or drink and stayed right by the glass door looking out and waiting. When she got home the next day, they started howling in excitement, and for me, I was glad she was home too, but I didn’t howl!
