Halloween fun, activities offered by Beverly Library

On October 26, the staff of the Beverly Library will be taking over Dodge Park for some Halloween fun. The Beverly-Center PTO will be manning pumpkin painting. Beverly Leos will be making slime. Pleasing Palettes will have face painting. There will be a photo booth and stories. Stop in for performances by Mad Science of Northeast Ohio, Cirque du Papier, and J.D. Williamson. Find the staff from the Muskingum Valley Rehab for a tote full of crafts. Also in this bag will be five $1 tickets to be used at various local businesses. There is a scavenger hunt card in the bag, as well. Return a completed card to the library for a Halloween treat box. There will be a Pumpkin Pie Baking Contest and a Pie Eating Contest. Rules and regulations are at the library. Fun starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m., or while supplies last.

Anime and Pirate Day at the Beverly Library

The staff of the Beverly Library has been very busy preparing wonderful programs. At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays there will be anime club. There will be a selection of episodes watched. These will mostly be in Japanese, with subtitles, and the ratings may vary.

Annual Homecoming at Fairview Holiness Church

The annual homecoming for Fairview Church will be September 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 15, starting with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Services in the afternoon will be at 1:30 p.m., with Fred Bales preaching. There will be no Sunday evening services September 15.

Aristotle Hutras, retired chairman of the Ohio Study Council, will be the speaker. The study council is supposed to study proposed retirement legislation and give nonpartisan recommendations to the legislature. This promises to be an interesting presentation. All retired county employees, their spouses, and any retired employees who would like to join our chapter are welcome to attend.

Beverly Library to hold movie night at pool Friday

On Friday, July 19, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., the Beverly Library and The Beverly/Waterford Community Pool Committee will be having a family movie night at the Pool. Cost is $5, and children under three are free. All paying participants will get a bag of popcorn, and the concession will be open. Please contact the library about the movie. This is not the Summer Reading Pool Party.
