As people prepare for what is sure to be an unusual holiday season, the towns and villages in the area are still doing their best to get folks into the Christmas spirit.

Santa Claus is still coming to town, but he will be practicing social distancing. While the annual Malta-McConnelsville Christmas parade is canceled, Santa will still ride atop the M-M Fire Department truck and follow the parade route on Friday, Nov. 27. He will depart the Kiwanis Park at 6 p.m., proceed down Main Street Malta, cross the Veterans Memorial Bridge, then go down Main Street McConnelsville to the Commons. Observers are expected to wear their masks if they are outside along the parade route, or they can watch from inside their cars.
