Though there are still questions at the national level, the 2020 election is officially in the books for Morgan County. As expected, it was a tight and exciting race up and down the ballot. With the heated national race and important state and local races, Morgan County stepped up to the plate and recorded record voting numbers.

The early/absentee voting period for the county ended Monday afternoon, November 2. The county had a 50 percent voter turnout at that time, which is a record for early voting according to the Morgan County Board of Elections. When the polls finally closed on Election Day, the total turnout number had reached 73.15 percent (6,908 ballots cast out of 9,261 registered voters), similar to the 73 percent in 2016.
