Everything old is new again. The minds behind the Twin City Opera House renovation are putting this saying into practice with plans for a 1930s update to its interior.

The plan evolved out of the current renovation which has already completed the most intense phase of its restoration to redress signs of the Opera House’s age. Some evident fixes include an exterior wash; for the lobby, a new ticket booth and doors; a fresh coat of plaster and paint for the auditorium; and remodeled bathrooms. However, the most work went into things that go unseen, such as repaired floor joists, support pillars, restored structural integrity of the dome, and much-needed updated wiring. These fixes will accommodate the Opera House’s current needs as well as the needs of generations of theatergoers to come.
