Before and after State Senator Tim Schaffer visited the slip on State Route 376, he spent over an hour checking out booths and sampling food during Heritage Days while taking in the musical talents of Morgan County. He started off the afternoon by presenting The Herald with a proclamation celebrating its 175 years – the longest continuous business in the county.

Schaffer spent two hours digging into the slip on SR 376 and discussing the AEP land purchase Saturday, Oct. 19. Talking with Morgan County’s Engineer Stevan Hook, Auditor Gary Woodward, Sheriff Doug McGrath, ODOT’s Darla Miller, and Shelly and Sands Project Supervisor Brett Ginn, Senator Schaffer was very concerned about the enormity of both the projects, the effect they have on the taxpayers and the money the school district is spending on fuel to reroute buses. “I had no idea it was this big,” stated Schaffer in amazement while standing at the bottom of the hill.
