Mayor Travis read a brief note she received from the family of Heck Harkins which contained an old photograph of the coach with his team and a check for $500 to be used for improvements to the community center. It was suggested the funds could be used to replace some of the metal chairs that have fallen into disrepair. The council appreciates the continued interest shown by the family in the center that was named in honor of Coach Harkins.

The Stockport City Council met on June 19, at the HECK Harkins Community Center, and opened with an invocation and the pledge of allegiance. All members of council were present. In addition to the council, there were a number of local citizens in attendance. Mayor Cindy Travis opened the meeting and the floor to the public before hearing from council.
