“Overwhelmed” and “elated” are the words used by McConnelsville’s new postmaster, Jamie Wickham, to describe this year’s USPS National Association of Letter Carriers-sponsored food drive dubbed “Stamp Out Hunger.”

On Saturday, May 11, city and rural carriers gathered their spouses, children and grandchildren at the McConnelsville Post Office to cover Morgan County communities and collect nonperishable food items from each door step. Families across the county had previously been provided special brown bags to set next to their mailboxes. From there, carriers and volunteers picked them up for distribution to the local food pantry, Morgan County United Ministries (MCUM), in Malta.
