Zane State College expands College Credit Plus offerings to Morgan High School

Beginning in fall of 2019, Zane State College will expand its Ohio College Credit Plus Program (CCP)* offerings at Maysville Local Schools, Morgan Local Schools and Noble Local Schools. The approved accreditation change now allows Zane State College to offer 50-percent or more of a degree at these three locations. The approval was granted by the Higher Learning Commission.

MVESC Awards Six Students with Scholarships

The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center (MVESC) recently honored the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award finalists from each of the 15 school districts in Coshocton, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum, and Perry counties and the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District at the 30th Annual Student and Teacher Recognition Ceremony at Ohio University-Zanesville.

The Morgan County Children’s Theater has a new name. It is now The Carol Hammond Children’s Theatre (CHCT). This is the same group, same commitment to children, just a different name.

Malachi Morrison recognized for superior academic achievement by The National Society of High School Scholars

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) announced Malachi Morrison, from McConnelsville, OH, has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization. The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment. The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.

It’s that time of the year again, The Morgan High School Drama Club is presenting to you the 5th annual dinner theatre production, the musical You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased from a Drama club member or in the high school office.

Washington-Morgan Community Action is accepting applications for its Head Start program for the 2018-19 school year. Head Start, a federally funded FREE preschool program, is a comprehensive development program that focuses on education, nutrition, health, and social development of young children.
