F. Michael Totman, 75, of Zanesville, formerly of McConnelsville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

He was born on September 4, 1945, in Port Saint Joe, Florida, to the Late Forrest and Patricia Nedley Totman.

He was the court administrator for the Morgan County Common Pleas Court and also the bailiff. He also owned and operated Totman’s Lamp House Restaurant in Malta. He was a member of the Ohio Chief Probation Officers Association, Family and Children First Board, Southeastern Regional Jail Board (Founding Member), Perry Multi County Juvenile Facility Board, a Chief Parole Officer, and a State Deputy Sheriff. A past member of the County Care Team, Chesterhill Volunteer Fire Department, Malta Business Association, Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and Buckeye State Sheriffs Association.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Eing Totman of the home; one son, Phil (Carmen) Totman of Titusville, FL; two daughters, Teresa (Jerry) Turner of Barlow and Mindy (Jordon) Lill of Pleasant View, TN; a sister, Jean Wagoner of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Justin (Leah) White, Amanda White, Nikki Totman, Michelle Totman, and Bailey Totman; and four great-grandchildren, Holly Totman, Ezra White, Amerys Mansfield, and Eastun White.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Totman; a sister, Sharon Quimby; and a great-grandson, Forrest Dean Totman.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at the Matheney Funeral Home, in McConnelsville, with burial following in the Chesterhill Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home.
