William E. Garrett, 85, of McConnelsville, passed away at 4:36 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at his home.

He was born July 15, 1935, in Morgan County, a son of the late William H. Garrett and Erma Rhinbarger Garrett.

He retired from Gould Battery, in Zanesville, after 36 years. He was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church, near Eagleport, and enjoyed camping and being outdoors and could build or repair anything.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Junita Burtnett Garrett; two daughters, Diane L. Ridenour of McConnelsville and Debra K. Boghossian of London, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kelly (Lonny) Breen, Natalie Kehl, John Boghossian, and Jamie (Jeremy) Woodall; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Eldora Campbell of Georgia; a brother, Darrell L. (Linda) Garrett of Duncan Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ermina McElroy.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Dutch Hill Cemetery, with Rick Snyder officiating.

Miller-Huck Funeral Home, in McConnelsville, is entrusted with arrangements.
