The Morgan Raider football team recorded a school-record 11 sacks in a 20-0 nonleague Homecoming win over Circle­ville Logan Elm, at the Athletic Field, on Friday night.

Morgan soccer team overcomes adversity charging to sectional title

If the Morgan Raider Soccer team wanted a Division II Sectional title, they would have to become road warriors. The Raiders did just that with wins at Philo and at Wintersville Indian Creek to claim the program’s second sectional championship. In the process, Morgan broke the school record with its 12th win of the season, and Hayden Paige broke the record for points in a season.

Lady Cat volleyball team’s determination leads to TVC Hocking, Sectional Titles; Taylor reaches 1,000 career assists

In a two-week period, the Waterford Lady Wildcat volleyball team claimed the Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division Cham­pion­ship and a Division IV Sectional crown.

Wildcats ascend in OHSAA playoff picture

Just two weeks ago, the Waterford Wildcat football team was on the outside looking in of the Division VII playoff picture standing in ninth place. After rallying to beat Wahama and blowing past the Tornadoes of Southern, the unofficial has the Wildcats moving into fourth of Region 27 when the official OHSAA standings are released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Morgan cross-country teams had their MVL meet at Foxfire High School in South Zanesville Saturday, Oct. 12. The weather was cold at around 45 degrees, with a strong breeze. The weather did not stop the runners from doing their best.

Morgan HS announces Homecoming Court

Morgan High School Homecoming is this Friday, Oct. 18. The parade starts off at 6 p.m. from the Malta Bible Church parking lot and heads out for the Athletic Field. The King and Queen will be announced before the game that evening.

Cadets shutdown defending State WVA Champs

The Fort Frye Cadets’ homecoming night game with two-time defending West Virginia Class A champ Wheeling Central Catholic was supposed to be an evenly matched contest. However, the Cadets were firing on all cylinders, posting their third shut out of the season in a 42-0 victory.

MHS volleyball team’s Senior Night Thursday; Hosts Zanesville in sectional tournament

The Morgan Lady Raider volleyball team will wrap up the regular season Thursday night when they host Maysville on Senior Night. The junior varsity match is at 5:30 p.m. Lady Raider seniors Josie Wells, Che’ Venoy and Emilee Konkler will be honored.

The Morgan cross-country teams were in action this past Wednesday at the Backwoods 2-miler. Everyone runs 2 miles because this meet is just for fun. The weather was hot for the junior high races, but it cooled down during the high school run. Some of the Morgan runners ran their personal bests for two miles.

Smith, Coon tie records in two Lady Raider soccer wins; seniors will be honored tonight

Marley Smith tied two of her own school records as the Morgan Lady Raider soccer team blanked Philo in a 5-0 Muskingum Valley League win. Smith had all five goals for the Lady Raiders, tying her record of goals (5) and points (10) in a match. Rilee Coon tied the record for assists in a match in a victory over Coshocton.

The Morgan Raiders returned to the soccer pitch for the stretch drive after a ten-day layoff. They hosted Philo last night in an MVL contest. The Raiders entertain West Muskingum in a league match on Thursday at 5 p.m. The Raiders are on the road to Tri-Valley to battle the Scotties on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m.

Morrow ties ‘Digs in a Match’ record; Lady Raiders split four MVL matches

A school-record tying effort by Ella Morrow helped the Lady Raider volleyball team split four Muskingum Valley League matches. Morrow tied the school record for digs in a match (30) in a victory over West Muskingum. The Lady Raiders also beat Crooksville, but they lost league matches to Tri-Valley and New Lexington.
