Morgan HS announces 2020 Homecoming Court

Morgan High School will be selecting its Homecoming King and Queen this Friday before the varsity football team takes on Meadowbrook at 7 p.m. Due to the current health restrictions, there will not be a Homecoming parade.

Raiders blank West M in historic win

Landen Pettet rushed for two touchdowns, Alex Greuey scored twice, and Levi Brown tossed two scoring strikes as the Morgan Raider football team scored a historic 33-0 win at West Muskingum’s Whirlwind Stadium. It was the Raider’s first-ever win in the Small School Division of the newly revamped Muskingum Valley League.

Crim places at Nationals

CJ Crim, a 2020 Fort Frye High School graduate, competed at the National High School Rodeo, in Oklahoma, at the end of July. She placed 29th in the world in breakaway roping and 67th in team roping out of approximately 200 contestants in each category. She also received a $1,000 Merit Scholarship from the National High School Rodeo Association. Crim just moved into her dorm at Findlay University recently to work towards a doctorate’s degree in physical therapy.

Governor gives green light for contact sports, urges caution

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced Tuesday that he will sign a new Ohio Department of Health order that permits contact sports, including the fall sports of field hockey, soccer and football, to move forward with games against other schools. The Governor confirmed support for Ohio’s coaches to inspire their student-athletes to continue following safety precautions so that all sports can be played.
