The first installment on the girl’s side of the Muskingum River showdown found Fort Frye using the free throw line to outlast Waterford 34-25.

The teams struggled from the field in their meeting at the Cooper Annex on January 11. Both teams shot under 30 percent for the game. The Lady Wildcats were 11 of 38, for 29 percent, with one made three-pointer. The Lady Cadets made just six field goals (five threes) in 24 attempts for 25 percent. The difference was at the charity stripe as Fort Frye was 19 of 33 versus the Lady Wildcats two of six.
