Lenora Frances Chandler



Lenora Frances Chandler, 78, known by most as Frances, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at Genesis Healthcare System. 

She was born July 18, 1937, to the late Carroll Smith and Pauline Hill, in Chesterhill.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell F. Chandler, to whom she married on September 29, 1956. She is also preceded by a son, Tony E. Chandler; five brothers, Duane, Phillip, David, Stephen, and Donald; one sister, Eva Smith; and a step-father, Kennard C. Ramsey.

She leaves behind to mourn, children, Voneta (Ernest) Harris, Carla Jo (Terry) Sephfus, Tamara Spraggins, Angela (Kyle) Dodley, Gayla Williams, and Melinda (Jay) Whiteside; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Smith, of NC, Roger Smith, of Newton Falls, Carlyn Smith, of Mineral City, and John Ramsey, of Canton. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frances attended Marion High School in Chesterhill. She was an avid genealogist and was a member of The Rainbow Coalition. She worked for the board of elections and was a lifetime member of the Lenape Indians Four. She was also a lifetime member of the Multicultural Genealogical Center. Frances enjoyed attending various family reunions. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.

You may call on the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle Street, Zanesville, Ohio.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 536 Moxahala Ave, Zanesville, Ohio. Pastor Keith Wyatt will be officiating.
